FESTA DELLO SCARABEO 2019

Quest’anno la festa dell’Associazione si è svolta nello splendido scenario della Nuvola Lavazza. Giovedì 12 settembre Gli Scarabei hanno incontrato Paolo Nespoli e Silvia Rosa Brusin, protagonisti della conversazione “Lo spazio: dagli interrogativi degli antichi alla conquista della Luna”, durante la quale il celebre astronauta italiano ha incuriosito e divertito gli ospiti con aneddoti sulle sue missioni nello spazio.

FESTA DELLO SCARABEO 2017

Lunedì 6 febbraio l’Officina della Scrittura ha ospitato il tradizionale appuntamento dell’Associazione, che per l’occasione ha festeggiato i 10 anni di attività insieme a molti dei suoi associati. Dopo la visita al suggestivo Museo del Segno e della Scrittura, Gli Scarabei hanno incontrato l'ospite d'onore della serata, Nicola Lagioia, Direttore del Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino. La serata si è conclusa con una cena di gala.

2016 Festa dello Scarabeo

On Wednesday, April 27th, the beautiful Palazzina di Caccia of Stupinigi was the setting of the 2016 edition of the Festa dello Scarabeo, the annual event which celebrates the activities of our Association and the precious contribution made by all its members.
After visiting the exhibit "Regine e Re di cuochi" inside the Palazzina, the evening’s guest of honor, Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, shared anecdotes and reflections about his professional life, taking his cue from Giuseppe Lavazza’s questions. 
The evening concluded with a dinner at the Bistrot: a highly creative menu entitled “In tribute to the chefs” gave Gli Scarabei the opportunity to enjoy dishes inspired by famous chefs such as Crippa, Oldani, Lopriore and Bottura.

2015 Festa dello Scarabeo

On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the Festa dello Scarabeo was held at the Conservation and Restoration Center “La Venaria Reale”.
The guest of honor that year was the Director of the Egyptian Museum, Dr. Christian Greco, whose lecture “The sarcophagi of the Valley of the Queens. From their discovery to their restoration” was the fitting end to a tour of the laboratories, where participants could see some of the stages in the restoration of sarcophagi and other artifacts. 
Afterward, Gli Scarabei participated in a Gala Dinner organized at the restaurant Dolce Stil Novo.

2014 Festa dello Scarabeo

The 2014 Festa dello Scarabeo was held later than usual, on Monday, February 3, 2015, at the Academy of Sciences. The guest of honor was the art critic Philippe Daverio, whose fascinating lecture illustrated how the history of Ancient Egypt has profoundly influenced art and culture over the centuries. Afterward, Gli Scarabei participated at a Gala Dinner in the splendid rooms of a private club, the Circolo del Whist.

2013 Festa dello Scarabeo

That year, the Festa dello Scarabeo was held on November 18th in the Statuary Hall of the Egyptian Museum. The evening continued with a Gala Dinner organized inside the Museum.

2012 Festa dello Scarabeo

In 2012, the Festa dello Scarabeo was held on November 19th in the fascinating setting of the Sala dei Mappamondi of the Academy of Sciences. A lecture was given by the guest of honor, the journalist and scientific popularizer Piero Angela.
Afterward, Gli Scarabei participated at a Cocktail Dinner organized at the Museum of the Risorgimento.

2011 Festa dello Scarabeo

On December 5, 2011, the fifth Festa dello Scarabeo was held in the Statuary Hall of the Egyptian Museum and was attended by the guest of honor, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, President of the Pontifical Council for Culture. In the splendid setting of the Statuary Hall, designed by Oscar-winner Dante Ferretti, Monsignor Ravasi gave a lecture on Egyptian myths and divinities about the creation of the world and of mankind, comparing them with Hebrew-Christian texts about the Genesis. The Cardinal also discussed other themes in Egyptian and Christian culture, including love, pain and the word, both human and divine. The event set the basis for a twinning between the two Museums, in view of the upcoming visit of Gli Scarabei to the Vatican Museum.

2010 Festa dello Scarabeo

On November 29, 2010, the Statuary Hall of the Egyptian Museum hosted the fourth Festa dello Scarabeo, which was attended by the guest of honor, Madame Guillemette Andreu Lanoë, Conservateur général, Directrice du Département des Antiquités égyptiennes du Musée du Louvre, who illustrated the founding of the collections of the two Museums - in Paris and in Turin - thanks to the contribution of the Piedmontese Bernardino Drovetti, soldier, diplomat, traveler, explorer and collector of antiquities. The profile of this historical personality was traced by the deputy editor of La Stampa, Vittorio Sabadin. Museum Director Eleni Vassilika illustrated the new restorations conducted by the Museum with the support of Gli Scarabei and unveiled a plaque dedicated to the Association, in particular for the restoration of the collection of objects from the Tomb of Kha, which was given a new location in the museum itinerary.

2009 Festa dello Scarabeo

On November 16, 2009, the Statuary Hall of the Egyptian Museum hosted the third annual Festa dello Scarabeo, which included a preview screening of the documentary La nascita della Luce. I capolavori del Museo Egizio di Torino, edited by Gianni Barcelloni and Giorgio Montefoschi and produced by PulseMedia and RaiCinema. The guest of honor was Mario Resca, General Director for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

2008 Festa dello Scarabeo

On November 10, 2008, in the fascinating setting of the Statuary Hall of the Egyptian Museum, the members of Gli Scarabei received a world premiere presentation of the imposing project to restructure the Museum. The restoration projects financed by Gli Scarabei, and their relative costs, were also presented.

2007 Festa dello Scarabeo

The first Festa dello Scarabeo was held on October 11, 2007 in the splendid rooms of Palazzo Madama, which had recently been reopened to the public. The evening was organized to welcome the many new members and to officially present the program of activities: from the restoration of the collection’s treasures to activities for the public organized by the Museum. The guest of honor was Dante Ferretti, set designer, Oscar winner and curator of the Statuary Hall setup.
